Tatonka has the perfect pack for any use - and any back. Choosing the right carrying system is an important part of selecting your pack. Those embarking on longer tramps carrying lots of weight should go for the high-end X1 carrying system. For pursuits requiring lots of movement, the V Comfort Vario or the X Vent Zero carrying systems are ideal. Below you can find out more about how to select the perfect carrying system for your own personal requirements and how to best align this to your back.

The X1 Carrying System

High-end for heavy loads. The X1 carrying system is designed for carrying heavy loads over 25kg. The special x-shaped construction directs part of the load horizontally to the padded hip strap, thus transferring the load from the back to the hips. This means the weight can be transported over much longer distances. The comfortable hip strap with double webbing, the load control straps and the soft, ergonomic shoulder straps can be easily adjusted and allow the carrying system to be adapted for the perfect fit. A rubberised lumbar pad and concave back padding ensure that the pack sits perfectly against the back and provides stability.

The X1 Carrying System Women has been specifically developed for the female anatomy and includes a shorter back length with curved shoulder straps.

The V2 Carrying System

Flexible for medium to heavy loads. The construction of the V2 system with specially positioned rods provides an excellent ratio of efficient load transfer and flexibility at the same time. The carrier can still move around relatively well, even when carrying a large amount of weight. The hip strap with lumbar pad and conically shaped hip wings is comfortably padded and prevents the back from slipping. The back padding with its concave shape guarantees optimum hold and allows freedom of movement, even when the pack is full. The load control straps, the comfortable shoulder straps and the lid are all adjustable and allow you to find the perfect fit. Suitable for carrying loads up to 40kg.

The Y-1 Carrying System

Basic carrying system for medium to heavy loads. The construction of the Y-1 system with specially positioned rods provides an excellent combination of efficient load transfer and flexibility. The contoured hip belt with lumbar pad and conically shaped hip belt is comfortably padded and prevents the pack from slipping. The load control straps, the comfortable shoulder straps and the hip belt can all be easily adjusted to the user.

The V Comfort Vario Carrying System

Lightweight and flexible for medium loads. The V Comfort Vario carrying system is suitable for loads up to 15 kg and provides a successful combination of lightness and flexibility whilst spreading the load effectively. The padded back design allows air to circulate and the padded hip wings have cleverly positioned slots for optimum ventilation. The waist belt, shoulder straps and load control straps can all be easily adjusted to ensure the perfect fit.

X Light Vario-System

Designed to be as light as possible. This makes it the ideal choice for trips with fewer belongings or a lighter load. The well-designed back construction with side stabilisers, three-part hip strap with lumbar pad, two comfortable hip wings and concave-shaped back padding ensure that the pack sits perfectly and  does not slip out of place. Two x-shaped crossed glass fibre rods efficiently transfer the load from the shoulders to the hips.

The Vent Comfort Carrying System

Comfort and durability for heavy daypack loads. The Vent Comfort carrying system provides pleasant air circulation with its central ventilation channel and an air permeable AirTex cover. Two foam pads on the sides offer a high level of carrying comfort with their concave shape guaranteeing optimum load control. The waist strap provides additional stability, especially when you have a lot of weight on your back.

The X Vent Zero Carrying System

Great ventilation for movement - intensive use. The revolutionary X Vent Zero system offers maximum control and the best possible ventilation with minimal contact with the back. Two x-shaped fibreglass rods on the back of the pack combine with the straps to create a carrying system that keeps most of the pack away from the back. This allows air to flow through, providing optimum ventilation. The system can be tightened and loosened as desired, and the fibreglass rods removed so the pack can lie directly against the back. The reduction in materials means that these packs are extremely lightweight.

Padded Back Carrying System

Comfort in everyday life. The Padded Back Carrying System has in-built padding that provides comfort for the user. The cushioning occurs in just the right places, moulding to the user’s back and ensuring loads can be carried securely and comfortably even when the pack is full.
